Delta’s New Sky Club at ATL: Big, Bold, and Full of Southern Charm
If you're flying out of Atlanta anytime soon, especially through Concourse D, go ahead and build in an extra time—because you’re going to want to check out Delta’s newest Sky Club. This isn’t just another airport lounge. It’s 24,000 square feet of pure travel bliss, designed with a whole lot of Atlanta soul.
Delta just opened its eighth Sky Club at Hartsfield-Jackson, and this one is a stunner. Located right in the heart of Concourse D, it’s their biggest yet by seating (506 guests!) and second-largest overall. That means more space to stretch out, snack up, and recharge while the rest of the terminal fights for power outlets and prepackaged trail mix.
The Inside Scoop
This Sky Club is part sophisticated city lounge, part Southern front porch. You’ve got sweeping airfield views, a massive buffet, two drink stations, a 16-seat bar, and even soundproof phone booths for those last-minute work calls (or just escaping the noise). There's also a theater-style media wall if you want to catch a game or scroll in style.
This opening is a big moment not just for Delta, but for ATL. Both turn 100 this year, and what better way to celebrate than by making your airport experience feel a little more like first class—whether or not you’re flying it.
Designed for the Dirty South (in the best way)
Delta leaned hard into the Atlanta aesthetic here—and we love it. Brick walls, coffered ceilings, and shuttered accents bring the Southern charm, while sleek lighting and shiny metallics give it that city-slick edge.
The art’s worth a walk-through too. There’s a mural of local greenery (ATL is still the “City in a Forest,” after all), plus soft, dreamy photography that looks like your favorite Southern summer memory. Bonus: most of the pieces are by Atlanta-based artists, which gives the space even more hometown pride.
How to Get In Without Paying Out of Pocket
Here’s where the points and perks come in. Access to this Sky Club doesn’t have to cost you a dime—if you’ve got the right card in your wallet:
Amex Platinum – Gets you into Delta Sky Clubs when you’re flying Delta that same day. This card’s not cheap, but the lounge access (plus Centurion Lounges and more) can easily pay for itself if you fly even a handful of times a year.
Delta SkyMiles® Reserve Amex – Also gets you in when flying Delta. If you’re loyal to the airline, this card’s a strong choice. It includes guest access options, upgrade priority, and a path to Medallion Status.
Delta One tickets – Flying Delta One? You’re in, no card needed.
Annual Memberships & One-Time Passes – These are still options, but with credit card access becoming more common, you might want to earn your way in instead of paying upfront.
Not flying Delta? Unfortunately, that’s the deal—Sky Clubs are strictly for Delta itineraries. But if ATL is your home base (or home-away-from-home), stacking the right credit card can turn every travel day into something that feels more like a staycation.
